Adel Sisy Named National STEM Champion
Adel Sisy one of 106 students who will receive an expense-paid trip to the National STEM Festival in Washington, D.C. and one of 6 students who received the Congressional Innovation Award.
EXPLR announces the 106 students whose outstanding performance in the National STEM Challenge has earned them the title of National STEM Champions.
Adel Sisy will present his Project Gamma to top government and corporate leaders, as well as receive recognition at the National STEM Festival in Washington, D.C. in March 2025.

Adel Sisy receives Special Congressional Recognition from the U.S. Congress for his bioinformatics application, Tandem Repeat Analysis and Visualization App (TRAVA). Congressman Al Green, congressional district Texas 9, presented the award during the Congressional App Challenge Demo Day ceremony.
TRAVA aims to provide genomic researchers with a powerful, large-scale bioinformatics application to analyze and visualize tandem repeats across the human genome. By cataloging about 58 million tandem repeats in 10,068 genes linked to over 82,000 gene-disease associations, TRAVA helps researchers identify mutations that may serve as genetic markers for gene editing technologies like CRISPR, offering potential paths toward treatment or cures.
